All Bosch motion detectors use high-quality optics to achieve the best coverage pattern for a monitored area. When supported by our unique First Step Processing technology, they can instantly respond to the very first step of a person within this area without producing false alarms from other sources. When an object crosses the detector’s field of view, the sensor detects a sharp increase in infrared energy and triggers an alarm.
As the temperature of a room changes, Bosch Dynamic temperature compensation automatically adjusts the detector’s sensitivity accordingly. This is so it can identify a person at virtually any temperature. For example, if direct sunlight has raised the temperature of the room to 37°C, and someone enters that room, the sensor will detect this change and compensate for it, triggering an alarm.
Because false alarms can be attributed to many contributing factors, Bosch developed Microwave Noise Adaptive Processing to differentiate humans from repetitive false alarm sources, such as vibrating machinery, heating systems and air conditioning, including ceiling fans. As featured in our TriTech detectors, Microwave Noise Adaptive Processing makes adjustments for such background disturbances, further reducing false alarms, but without sacrificing the ability to detect an intruder.
Selectable pet and small animal immunity* provides optimal sensitivity for any application. When activated, this feature minimizes nuisance alarms caused by animals up to 45 kg inside the coverage area.
